Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can make fat loss slower and muscle loss faster, but strength training is one of the most effective tools for countering both. A program built around this stage of life focuses on preserving muscle, supporting metabolism, and adapting as your body changes, rather than generic weight loss advice that doesn't account for what's actually happening.

Like any diet that leads to a significant amount of weight loss, GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy can lead to significant muscle loss alongside fat loss, if training and nutrition aren't adjusted to support it. The key is prioritizing strength training over cardio, and making sure protein intake is high enough to support the muscle you're working to keep. Coaching that's aware of how GLP-1s affect energy, appetite, and recovery makes a real difference here.

Yes, virtual coaching is available with minimal to no equipment required, so you can train from home or your gym. Sessions are one-on-one, just like in-person training, with a program built specifically around your goals.
-
In-person sessions are available in New York City, on the Upper West Side and in Hell's Kitchen.

No. Many clients come in with little to no training experience, and building a solid foundation from the ground up is one of the things I most enjoy coaching.
-
Yes. As a certified nutrition coach, I help clients build sustainable eating habits, including guidance specific to eating well while on a GLP-1 medication, without resorting to restrictive or short-term diets. General nutritional guidance is included with your training program. More individualized nutritional education and coaching is available at an additional cost.

Hormonal shifts during this stage affect strength, recovery, energy, and how the body responds to exercise. Training that doesn't account for this can lead to burnout or frustration. Programs are adjusted specifically for what your body needs now, not what worked for you at 25.

We'll meet on a video call to talk through your goals, what's been challenging so far, and the changes you're hoping to make. It's a no pressure conversation to see if we're a good fit.
-
This depends on your goals, schedule and budget. We will figure out a realistic plan together. Clients who train with me twice per week see the most benefit. However, consistency matters more than frequency.
